Is Used Industrial Equipment Worthwhile?

Anyone who has worked in heavy industry or manufacturing for any length of time can probably relate the jaw dropping sticker shock that comes when you’re ready to upgrade equipment. Even very basic pieces of industrial equipment can carry six figure price tags, and that’s not including upgrades.

These high prices lead many companies to use equipment long after it should be replaced. But using older equipment that’s not in the best of shape is a recipe for disaster. So what’s the answer?

Many companies are aware of the huge inventories of used warehouse, grain elevator and conveyance equipment available on the secondary market, but are reluctant to take advantage of this market. Given the nature of heavy equipment that understandable, but not necessary.

Buying a bucket elevator or forklift from a reliable used dealer is every bit as safe as buying from a new dealer. In fact, most equipment dealers operate large used divisions, though they may use a different name.

But for businesses that are looking for name brand equipment from trusted brands like Camflex at deeply discounted prices, the secondary market is the place you want to be. You don’t have to rely on that old, battered warehouse gear any longer.
