Maintaining your Intex Pool Filter Pump

The water in your Intex swimming pool has to be maintained so that it is safe and enjoyable for you and your family. The Intex pool filter pump that came with your pool is designed to last for several seasons. However, you cannot ignore your Intex filter pump as it will have to be inspected and maintained on a regular basis if you expect it to work as it should.

The Intex pool filter pump helps to keep your water clean by removing debris from the water and by keeping the water circulating. Not only does it remove leaves and insects but also hair, body oils and suntan lotions. Your pump is equipped with hoses, plunger valves, strainers and clamps all of which need to be inspected regularly. If you find that there are holes of any size in any of your hoses, replace them immediately as they will cause your water bill to rise. Leaving holes in hoses also will compromise the quality of your pool water over time as your intex filter pump will have to work harder than normal.

Your Intex pool filter pump is equipped with a mesh basket screen. This screen is where debris is collected which means that you will need to clean it thoroughly and often. When putting the clean basket back into the pump, be sure that the gasket is secured otherwise you will get leaks. You may find that you will have to replace the gasket every season to ensure a tight fit.
